Giving Tuesday is a global movement, occurring annually on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It serves as a counterbalance to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, redirecting the focus to acts of kindness and charitable giving. This Giving Tuesday, Got Her Back has a goal of raising $10,000 and we're confident we can get there with your support!
One of the core purposes of the WNFC is to change the perception for girls and women, that there is no future for them as a football player. For most youth girls who play football, that means dealing with and persevering through the bullying and stresses that come along with being the only girl playing on a “boys” team. We launched “Got Her Back” as the league's signature program aimed at Inspiring, Supporting, Mentoring, and Defending girls and women who play football. The “Got Her Back” program is an open line for parents, friends, coaches, and allies of girls.
In 2023, Got Her Back was the recipient of The Dick's Sporting Goods Foundation 'Sports Matter' Grant. With that funding, we were able to host 12 football clinics, for girls only, in 12 different cities across the country, impacting the lives of over 1000 female athletes. GHB was able to provide a safe & empowering space to teach HER the game of football and show HER that she has a future as a football playHER.
