"Thank you for having my back. I look forward to proving in a male-dominated sport that girls play football too!"
Keep Nayla in the Game: Her Story
At the age of 7, Nayla was told, “Girls can't play football.” That statement started her football career and sparked her determination to prove everyone wrong.
From being called names, taunted, told she’s not good enough, or at times, not being given a chance on the field, Nayla has fought through challenges as a girl in tackle football. She rises above all of the difficulties to play the game she loves. “I know I love this game with everything in me. I refuse to quit now.”
Now 12, Nayla plays linebacker, wide receiver, and running back in Florida. Her favorite football moment was when she got a 50+ yard first down against the best team in her division. She earned an invite to two new teams that same game. Football has taught her discipline in her schoolwork and to be a team player, no matter the outcome.
"It’s about standing up and being counted and saying you’re proud of who you are.
Don't ever let someone stop you from doing what you love."
